Warrior Lover - Origins - Episode 13 - Heart Rock Moment

The new academy invited me to the annual ceremony—to facilitate and award me for academic excellence. Sweet! I readied myself to attend in my best appearance. Not because I was receiving an award from an eminent dignitary, but because there was a chance. A chance to see her!

I waited at the ceremony hall, surrounded by friends who cheered for me. But I knew what I was looking for—they knew too!

Providence didn't let me down. She did come around. Came closer, but spoke only to the other friends. Wah re! Did she really ignore me for an eternity, or did it just feel like it?

I had been so invested in just seeing her that I forgot to prepare for what I would say when I actually did. And here she was—animated in conversation, but not with me! And there I sat, my mind completely blank—caught between anticipation and hesitation.

Then, just like that, she turned away and almost left—without a word to me. Leaving me stunned! All this waiting, all this journey, all this turmoil—was it all about to bite the dust? Just as I started to gasp—she paused.

She glanced back with a teasing smile, as if mockingly saying, "Rocked you, didn't I?"

"Yes, you did rock, my heart! Sorry I never bid you farewell upon graduating. But isn’t this too cruel a punishment for it?"—I spoke without speaking, as my breath returned.

"How are you?" she fired off—then, before I could say anything, turned and walked away.

Sweet embarrassment, as I stared at my surrounding friends and hushed them—as they barely contained their laughter.

In our academy, you see all kinds of students—some masters' favorites, some aspiring to be. I was among the rest, yet I fit into no group. Strolling through the gardens, gazing at flowers, pretending to water the plants... Nothing in particular ever caught my eye. Not until that day!
